Fabric and Quilt for Charity

Nothing But Kisses Quilt Auction on eBay. This 9-patch quilt was created by an online group of quilt bloggers and was designed and quilted by Victoria Findlay Wolfe (of Bumble Beans blog). The design was inspired by her 8-year-old daughter, who was adopted from China and who drew up a similar pattern. The quilt is being auctioned by Love Without Boundaries, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian assistance to the orphans in China who are orphaned or otherwise left homeless due to poverty, disease, disaster, or other reasons. All auction proceeds from this quilt will go to provide heart surgeries for orphaned children in China. Hurry, auction ends tomorrow!

Designer Emmet McCarthy, (you might remember him from Project Runway), has donated fabric to be sold on GorgeousFabrics.com. These fabrics are straight from his sample room and beautiful! All the proceeds from the sale of these fabrics goes directly to Sewing Hope to help fund training and equipment. Since these are sample cuts, their quantities are limited and once they are gone, they're gone. Sewing Hope provides training to women in Uganda whose families and extended families have been decimated by AIDS. Their goal is to provide education and equipment so these woman can earn a living and support their families.
